Defending Digital Campaigns (DDC) is a nonprofit C4, nonpartisan and non-aligned organization providing access to cybersecurity products, services and information regardless of party affiliation. DDC works with cybersecurity  vendors participating in DDC efforts that make services available directly to campaigns at low-to-no cost.

Defending Digital Campaigns (DDC) is hiring a temporary employee in the role of Community Builder/Marketing Manager for the 2020 Election Cycle. The Community Builder/Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning and executing a variety of marketing strategies to aimed at driving awareness of DDC services to eligible entities leading to adoption of DDC Partner products and services by eligible Federal Campaigns and Committees.

Core responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop and execute multi-pronged outreach strategy to engage Federal campaigns in adopting better cybersecurity practices focusing on adoption of DDC’s tools

  • Develop content for website, email marketing, digital advertising, social media outreach/campaigns and search engine optimization

  • Build and maintain relationships with DDC’s eligible campaigns and committees in addition to potential/current product partners

  • Collaborate with other DDC team Members to incorporate learnings into outreach efforts

  • Compile, analyze and distribute metrics and data to track performance against goals including engagement, traffic, interactions, growth, conversions, etc.

  • Develop materials to compliment DDC’s other efforts such as tip sheets and checklists that can be used for events and onboarding

  • Utilize strong analytical ability to analyze trends and insights to improve outreach  performance

  • Answer day-to-day inquiries on overall DDC’s mission and eligibility requirements

  • Actively track, monitor and communicate updates in all marketing efforts as required.

  • Be able to measure the impact of efforts towards DDC’s overall goals

  • Help identify potential partners, eligible campaigns/committees, and donors for DDC

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing, content development, or stakeholder relations.

  • Demonstrated experience and success working across email marketing, developing web content and social media

  • Superb communication skills including writing, editing and public speaking.

  • Working knowledge of email platforms such as MailChimp or Constant Contact and social media platforms including Twitter and LinkedIn

  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking with the ability to track both reach and success for varying marketing strategies.

  • Computer literate, familiar with standard software, GSuite, Office

  • Experience with Salesforce preferred
