As corporate campaign specialist, you will plan and execute sustained-pressure campaigns to effectively influence public opinion and motivate major corporations to adopt animal welfare policies that eliminate the cruelest practices in their food supply chains.

You will do invaluable work:

  • Research and monitor key details of major food companies, including corporate structure, history, animal welfare standards, leadership, and affiliates
  • Identify, research, and propose prospective campaign targets
  • Execute action plans for public awareness campaigns, including developing effective tactics and timelines for implementation
  • Write and disseminate platform-appropriate messaging for social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Analyze and navigate barriers while conducting high-impact campaigns
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and consistent campaign materials that comply with internal legal, editorial, and messaging standards
  • Draft letters to board members, shareholders, and other key stakeholders at targeted corporations
  • Manage logistics of placing advertisements in newspapers, creating mobile billboards, coordinating demonstration tours, writing and publishing petitions, and other creative tactics
  • Collaborate with other departments at Mercy For Animals to advance the organization’s strategic objectives
  • Work with other nonprofit organizations to foster solid relationships and coordination between Mercy For Animals and other corporate engagement professionals
  • Plan and run on-the-ground actions, such as demonstrations, petition drops, and other public actions
  • Engage with Mercy For Animals supporters and volunteers
  • Serve as a Mercy For Animals spokesperson at events, including demonstrations, industry gatherings, and press conferences, as needed

Your qualifications will add value to the corporate campaigns team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in corporate affairs, campaigning, issue advocacy, or closely related area or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of one year’s professional experience in corporate relations, campaigning, issue advocacy, sales, or related area
  • Self-motivation, resourcefulness, and creative research skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally and persuasively
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Compensation and Benefits

Earn an annual salary of $40,000–$46,000, depending on qualifications. Our paid time-off policy, including 20 vacation days a year, staff-appreciation days, holidays, and sick leave, is as generous as our no- or low-cost health insurance.
