Substitute Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) – Saitama / Gunma – Immediate Start

Part-Time | Immediate Start | May 2026 Location: Saitama / Gunma Salary: ¥12,000 per day (transport fully reimbursed) Applicants: Must currently reside in either South Gunma or North Saitama We are looking for warm, reliable, and enthusiastic disptach Substitute Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) to support English education in public elementary and junior high schools across North Saitama and South Gunma. Schools are primarily located in northern Saitama and southern Gunma, including areas such as Okegawa, Honjo, Isesaki, Ota and near Takasaki. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, values flexibility, and is looking for meaningful part-time work in a supportive and welcoming environment. A typical day includes 3–4 classes, lunch at school, and assisting fun English activities. REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree (any field) • At least 12 years of education conducted in English • At least 1 year of ALT experience in Japan • Currently living within Saitama and South Gunma • Basic Japanese ability (JLPT N5 or higher preferred) • Professional, dependable, and adaptable • Valid work visa required: Instructor / Engineer-Specialist in Humanities / Spouse / Permanent Resident / Long-Term Resident / Dependent (with permission to work at least 28 hours per week). 🚗 A valid Japanese driver’s license and confidence driving in Japan are strongly preferred! SCHEDULE & WORK STYLE • Core Working Hours: 8:15 AM – 4:15 PM • Core Availability: Mondays - Fridays • No evenings or weekends! • Set your own schedule / available days Flexible, lifestyle-friendly work: • This role is well suited for those balancing family life, childcare, studies, or other part-time work. About scheduling: • This is a substitute position. Assignments are often offered between 7:30–8:00 AM on the same day, though advance assignments are sometimes available. • We contact available teachers each morning with opportunities. You’re free to accept or decline based on your schedule. • You can accept assignments based on your availability, making this a great option for those who prefer flexible, on-demand work. • Work frequency varies depending on the season and school needs. Although we cannot guarantee working days, we prioritize offering assignments to reliable teachers. RESPONSIBILITIES • Be ready and available to accept assignments from 7:30 AM - 8:00AM (same day) • Support English lessons alongside Japanese Teachers of English (JTEs) • Lead pronunciation practice, speaking activities, and fun classroom games • Help prepare teaching materials and assist with classroom management • Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment for students WHY JOIN RCS?
