Description (EN)

Senior Data Scientist – Experimentation & Statistical Innovation Platform

Amsterdam (Hybrid) - Visa sponsorship and relocation included

A globally operating technology company is building the next generation of experimentation infrastructure — and is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to play a key role in that journey.

This is not a traditional analytics role. You won’t simply analyse experiments. You’ll help build the statistical engine behind them.

The team develops an internal experimentation platform used across multiple product and engineering domains, powering thousands of experiments annually at significant scale.

What makes this role unique?

  • You work on the experimentation platform itself. Think scalable experimentation infrastructure, not one-off analysis.
  • Advanced statistical innovation. The company is heavily investing in cutting-edge experimentation methods, moving beyond traditional fixed-horizon testing toward more robust sequential testing and modern statistical approaches. There is a strong appetite to explore new research and implement innovative methods that create real business impact.
  • Real scale, real complexity. The platform supports thousands of experiments annually across critical customer-facing systems and product flows.
  • Strong connection to academia & research. You’ll work in an environment that actively follows academic developments in experimentation and statistical testing. Team members attend specialized conferences, collaborate with researchers, and continuously evaluate emerging methodologies for practical implementation.
  • High ownership & senior influence. This role requires someone who can combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking. You’ll influence how experimentation is applied across the business and help shape long-term platform direction.

Ideal background:

  • Experience with experimentation platforms and statistical infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of hypothesis testing and experimental design
  • Experience implementing statistical methodologies
  • Python/data ecosystem experience (Spark, Airflow, Pandas, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management
  • Ability to operate independently in a senior, high-ownership environment

Salary and benefits

The salary is amongst the best in Amsterdam but depends on what you bring to the table in terms of skills, personality and experience. Some of the secondary benefits: a permanent contract, 20% guaranteed bonus, 10K+ personal allowance, healthcare allowance (~2K a year), holiday allowance (8%), holidays, laptop, travel allowance, relocation package for Internationals, training & conferences, 30% ruling, VISA sponsorship, luxury lunch, snacks/drinks, work from home setup, etc.
