We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Grade 5/6 Classroom Teacher to join our growing international school community. The ideal candidate is passionate about inquiry-based learning, developmentally appropriate practice, and creating meaningful learning experiences for elementary-aged students. As part of a small but dynamic team, the teacher will work closely with colleagues to deliver a high-quality international curriculum in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
-Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and Common Core standards for English and mathematics.
-Create clear learning goals and success criteria that support student progress.
-Scaffold instruction to meet diverse learning needs within a combined Grade 5/6 class.
-Integrate hands-on, inquiry-based activities that promote critical thinking and creativity.
-Use formative and summative assessments to track progress and adjust teaching accordingly.
-Provide timely feedback to students to support academic and personal growth.
Classroom Environment
-Maintain a warm, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
-Establish consistent routines and expectations that support positive behavior.
-Promote independence, collaboration, and respectful communication among students.
Collaboration & Professionalism
-Work closely with the teaching team to develop units, share resources, and align curriculum.
-Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
-Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress.
-Uphold safeguarding standards and follow all school policies and procedures.
Additional Duties
-Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other assigned times.
-Attend field trips, guest speaker sessions, and community events as required.
-Contribute to the ongoing development of the elementary school program.
