Staff, Advanced Analytics, Global Markets and Policy
— United StatesAirbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.
The Community You Will Join:
Airbnb, a leader in travel and hospitality, is on a mission to create a world where anyone can belong anywhere. We offer unique accommodations and experiences, crafted and curated by locals. As we expand into new marketplaces for in-person experiences and services, we are on the lookout for driven and innovative individuals to help shape our growth trajectory.
The Global Markets & Policy Advanced Analytics team is building the data infrastructure, measurement systems, product analytics capabilities, and self-service tools that will power Airbnb's international growth in 2026 and beyond. This is a greenfield opportunity to shape how global teams make nimbler decisions and build locally relevant features, moving from HQ-dependent reporting cycles to fast, local, data-driven action.
A key focus of this role is partnering with Airbnb's International Product organization—regional product and engineering teams building locally tailored guest experiences across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. This role will also partner directly with regional business teams, as well as Finance and Supply, to surface local insights, build scalable tooling, and advance measurable impact on core business metrics. The ideal candidate brings deep technical rigor, strong product and business instincts, and a bias toward proactively building things—not just analyzing them.
The Difference You Will Make:
You will develop and lead initiatives focused on ensuring we have the right international growth strategy and product experience. You will lead measurement, build tools, support new product features, and develop insights leveraging a wide range of internal and external data sources to ensure the business is making the right decisions for both strategic direction and tactical execution.
You are someone with a strong data and analytics background—curious, engaged, positive, and detail- and solutions-oriented. The world—and thus our industry—is changing quickly, so you will be comfortable responding promptly and changing course as needed when priorities and analytical priorities shift.
You will be highly collaborative, working regularly with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional partners across Regional Teams, Product, Policy, Supply, Finance, Data Science, Operations, Engineering, and Marketing.
You will already be recognized as a leader in the data and analytics field at this level, with a proven track record of using a range of strategies and disciplines to solve complex and ambiguous measurement problems for business teams. You will also use your considerable experience with data and insights storytelling to influence large-scale strategic programs, and be adept at leveraging AI technologies to accelerate and elevate the quality of your work.
You must be comfortable working in a global company, delivering counsel and guidance to senior leadership across the team and organization. You will have solid experience building internal advocacy and influencing multiple senior audiences on hard-to-communicate topics.
A Typical Day:
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to measure feature impact and guide product iterations; leverage causal methods when traditional randomized trials aren't available
- Design and build self-service analytics tools and dashboards that enable product and business teams to monitor performance, deploy the right growth levers, and act without waiting on centralized analytics cycles
- Partner with international product and regional GMs to translate local business questions into structured analytical frameworks with actionable insights
- Develop and maintain measurement infrastructure for local incentive programs, including campaign performance tracking, incrementality testing, and data-driven targeting methods
- Identify and size new growth opportunities across international markets using a combination of internal behavioral data, supply/demand signals, and external market data
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Research teams to ensure data and tooling needs are scoped into roadmaps and delivered on time
Your Expertise:
- 8+ years of experience in product data science or analytics, ideally within a marketplace, e-commerce, or global consumer technology environment
- Expert-level SQL skills; proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation, modeling, and analysis
- Industry experience applying AI technologies for business growth and workflow acceleration
- Strong experimentation background—you are fluent in A/B testing, causal inference methods, and incrementality measurement, and can design and interpret experiments independently
- Demonstrated experience building self-service data products and tools—dashboards, pipelines, or decision-support apps—used by non-technical business stakeholders
- Experience working in or supporting international / multi-market business contexts; comfort navigating cross-cultural data nuances and country-level analytical complexity
- Exceptional ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives for senior business audiences—you can make a country GM or a VP act on what you've built
- Proven track record of operating with autonomy in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and delivering high-quality work across multiple concurrent priorities
- Collaborative, low-ego working style with a strong orientation toward enabling the people around you—we measure success by the decisions our work influences, not the analyses we produce
- Familiarity with modern data stack tooling (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent) and comfort working closely with Data Engineering partners to productionize analytical work
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with supply/demand modeling or geo-based analytics in a marketplace setting
- Exposure to growth marketing analytics (SEM, paid social, performance channels)
- Awareness of emerging AI/LLM-driven discovery and search trends and their implications for organic traffic and demand generation strategy
- Familiarity with marketing analytics and measurement methodologies, including marketing mix modeling (MMM), attribution, and campaign performance frameworks
