Musashi International School Tokyo seeks an educator with experience in a multicultural environment. The candidate should reside in Japan and be willing to work in a Cambridge Assessment International Education School in Tokyo. We are searching for an individual who has strong teaching experience with a Science/Physics background and is flexible working with different levels of students in Middle and High School. General Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required: ● Preference will be given to those with experience teaching in a secondary school ● Preference will be given to those with a teaching background (degree, licensure) ● Preference will be given to those with a degree in the relevant field for the subject ● High level of personal skill in and passion for teaching middle and high school students ● Interest in innovative lesson design and in helping English language learners. Professional Responsibilities: ● Planning and instructing lessons on specific topics and subjects ● Enforcing classroom management and school policies ● Assessing and accommodating students' learning needs and styles ● Preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level examinations ● Grading students' assignments, tests, and exams ● Promote the welfare of children and support the school in safeguarding children through relevant policies and procedures. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm 40 hours per week Benefits: ● Health Insurance ● Social Insurance ● Social Pension ● Visa Renewal Sponsorship ● Employment Insurance ● Paid Leave [5 days] ● Paid sick leave [5 days] ● Transportation costs covered ● Professional Development opportunities Holidays: ● Saturday and Sunday Off ● National/Public Holidays ● 10 weeks of school holidays High School Mathematics Teacher Job Description General duties: ● Full-time teaching load ● Attend field trips (including overnight) throughout the year. ● Expectation to pick up an elective activity Expected Initial Teaching Load: ● Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 ● Cambridge A Level Mathematics 9709 Education and Work experience requirements: ● Should have qualifications and experience in Mathematics and/or teaching middle school or high school students Academic Year: 2025-2026 Starting Date: August 18, 2025 Year Level / Class: ● Year 10/11 Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics                ● Year 12/13 Cambridge A Level Mathematics Department: MSHS [Qualifications & Training] Essential: ● A relevant degree in Mathematics and/or Teaching ● A valid working visa for Japan or the ability to obtain one with sponsorship ● A teaching license/Qualified Teacher Status that is internationally recognized Desirable: ● A Master's degree that is relevant to the position ● Evidence of recent continuing professional development, including safeguarding training [Knowledge & Experience] Essential: ● Knowledge and understanding of a Mathematics Curriculum ● Successful experience as a teacher at KS4 or KS5, with a track record of achieving successful outcomes for pupils of all abilities. ● Ambitious for the amount of scientific knowledge pupils will have at High School age. ● An understanding of the principles of assessment ● Experience in successfully supporting pupils ● Experience in working constructively to achieve team objectives and deadlines ● Thorough knowledge of current subject specialist developments Desirable: ● Knowledge and understanding of the Cambridge Mathematics Curriculum ● Experience in creating and delivering engaging and challenging programs of study [Skills & Abilities] Essential: ● Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds ● Ability to contribute positively to the team, valuing and respecting others’ expertise and contribution. ● Confident Mac user, with experience using G-Suite [Special Requirements] Essential: ● Awareness of health and safety requirements relevant to the job ● Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and for raising any concerns ● Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children, young people, and vulnerable adults ● Emotional resilience and a flexible approach accommodating changing priorities and working patterns ● Willingness to continuously update skills and knowledge Desirable: ● A preference given if the candidate is willing and able to lead the Community Service Class
