Job Summary
As a member of the Professional Service Group, you will provide timely execution of ongoing client deliverables and consulting with clients on services. Develop solutions to complex problems/projects across multiple domains or clients. May participate in complex projects, lead parts of the requirements process for projects, and serve as a Subject Matter Expert.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering allocated work in all stages of the Workday deployment project lifecycle, from planning and design phases through to configuration, testing, go-live and post production support.
- Typically specializes and deepens skill set within a particular area, i.e., focuses efforts within a functional area.
- Developing as a subject matter expert to find the right solution to the client requirement.
- Develops working relationships with other members of team and management as well as onshore counterparts.
- Ability to be effectively and actively engaged on multiple, parallel clients, projects, and assignments.
- Actively participates in all phases of the Workday lifecycle, assisting project Lead and leveraging the Workday application.
- Performs consultant duties on Workday projects, responsible for the analysis, design, scheduling, construction, and delivery of the Workday solution.
- Possesses sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize conflicting demands with little supervision.
- Executes assigned project tasks within established schedule.
- Recognizes business process inefficiencies and recommends improvements.
- Performs research on problems, separating the symptoms from the actual cause, and identifies corrective measures. Seeks opinions and feedback on alternative solutions and implements those that have been agreed upon as part of methodology.
- Understands the value of a project plan, adheres to established processes and standards, monitors progress of tasks against plan, and reports status to appropriate team members as it relates to project issues.
- Contributes to knowledge management capital through activities such as sharing documented lessons learned, Q&A, documented deliverables, facilitation of Workday knowledge sharing sessions, and regularly posting best practices and knowledge sharing information to team knowledge sites.
- Provide guidance and instruction to other team members and coaching to more junior team members.
- Keeps requirements, design, process, and other technical documentation current.
- Understands other Alight solutions and applications and how they interact with Workday.
- Develop and maintain simple to complex Workday reports, including matrix and composite reports, utilizing Workday report writer/designer, as well as other organizational tools and available technologies.
Knowledge, Education, Certification, Skills & Technical Proficiencies
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in technical, business, or financial discipline.
- Must have strong analytical and time management skills.
- Ability to be effectively and actively engaged on multiple, parallel projects.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize conflicting demands with little supervision.
- Demonstrates strong work ethics, setting an example for others.
- Workday or other cloud ERP implementation and/or application management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
- Able to prioritize and organize deliverables with no escalations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to frequent change .
- Excellent communication skills as well as receptive listening skills.
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and can shift directions quickly when priorities change
- Team player able to work with virtual and global teams.
- Exhibits problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting issues and escalates as appropriate.
- Demonstrated commitment and achievement to delivery excellence and client satisfaction.
- Focused and detail oriented with the ability to work well independently and collaboratively with on-site and remote team members.
Work Experience
- 3+ years relevant work experience required.
- 9+ years of overall experience.
- Workday experience will be preferred.
- Previous consulting experience preferred either as an internal consultant or with a consulting / software organization in another ERP application (e.g. PeopleSoft).
- Deep knowledge of specific domain(s).
- Preferred areas include: Core HCM/Comp, Payroll, Recruiting, Core/Advanced Comp, Talent, Time Tracking, Absence, Learning, Benefits
- MBA / Equivalent qualification (added advantage, but not necessary)
- Must have demonstrated strong client and stakeholder engagements to achieve project objectives.
