Environmental Planner
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Environmental Planner to provide resource management planning and project delivery services to a diverse range of WSP clients. This role encompasses technical planning, project management, and project delivery, offering the chance to work across a varied portfolio of projects.
What you'll do
- Preparing and reviewing consent applications for design-build for civil engineering and environmental projects.
- Conduct research, feasibility studies, and produce reports suitable for client review and presentation.
- Provide input into project planning and assist project managers in scoping projects, including verification activities.
- Advise clients on resource management plans, policies, and relevant legislation.
- Present evidence and advice at local authority hearings.
- Act as Project Manager or Task Manager, ensuring deliverables meet client needs and projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Participate and support project outcomes that may not be specifically planning related.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Resource and Environmental Planning or Urban Planning, or a similar qualification recognised by the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI).
- Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a similar planning role.
- Membership of NZPI or actively working towards it.
- High emotional intelligence, integrity, and a client-centric approach.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Current clean driver’s licence.
