Video Editor & Content Packager (Gaming & Media)
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly creative Video Editor & Content Packager to help create engaging content across YouTube and other digital platforms. This role goes beyond editing, you’ll be responsible for crafting visuals that capture attention, maximize audience retention, and perform well in today’s competitive online media landscape.
You’ll work on content focused primarily on film, gaming, entertainment, pop culture, technology, and digital media. The ideal candidate understands internet culture, pacing, storytelling, thumbnails, titles, and what makes viewers click without relying on misleading tactics.
Responsibilities
Edit short and long-form YouTube videos with strong pacing, comedic timing, and visual storytelling.
Package content for maximum performance, including:
Thumbnail concepts
Video titles
Hook optimization
Viewer retention improvements
Source and organize gameplay footage, media assets, graphics, sound effects, and music.
Create motion graphics, captions, zooms, transitions, and visual effects where appropriate.
Repurpose long-form content into YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other vertical formats.
Collaborate with writers and producers to improve video structure and audience engagement.
Stay current on YouTube trends, gaming news, and changes in the online creator ecosystem.
Help develop repeatable editing styles and workflows that strengthen the brand.
Requirements
Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent professional editing software.
Experience editing YouTube or creator-focused content.
Excellent understanding of pacing, storytelling, and audience retention.
Knowledge of YouTube packaging, including thumbnails, titles, and CTR optimization.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to receive feedback and iterate quickly.
Passion for gaming, entertainment, internet culture, and online media.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Adobe After Effects or motion graphics.
Graphic design experience, particularly thumbnail creation.
Familiarity with Photoshop or similar design software.
Experience editing gaming content or video essays.
Understanding of YouTube Analytics and performance metrics.
Basic audio mixing and color correction skills.
