The role maintains performance, availability, and scalability of mission-critical healthcare imaging platforms (PACS, RIS, enterprise imaging). Key responsibilities: ensure 99.9%+ uptime for production environments; monitor customer databases for issues and anomalies; optimize SQL database performance through execution plan analysis, indexing, query tuning, and maintenance; lead deployment rollouts and system migrations; provide capacity planning expertise; drive incident management and root-cause analysis; promote continuous improvement through automation and monitoring enhancements. Requirements: 5+ years expert-level SQL/database engineering/reliability engineering experience; strong Sybase/SQL Server expertise including performance tuning, query optimization, index management, backup/recovery, and high availability solutions (Always On, clustering, replication); Windows/Linux server administration with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python); monitoring tools (PRTG, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, DataDog); troubleshooting and analytical skills; Bachelor's in Computer Science/IT or equivalent. Preferred: healthcare IT systems experience (PACS, RIS, medical imaging); healthcare data standards (HIPAA, DICOM, HL7); infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM); containerization (Docker, Kubernetes); DevOps/CI-CD; ITIL 4; cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP); cloud platform experience. On-call participation required; occasional travel up to 10% for client escalations/team collaboration.
