AECOM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with hyperscale data center experience to serve as Data Center Mechanical Engineer Lead. Responsibilities include designing and overseeing mechanical systems for hyperscale data centers, including HVAC, piping, and fire suppression systems. The role involves acting as primary client contact, developing strong client relationships, coordinating with multiple disciplines, developing detailed equipment specifications, writing technical reports, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, analyzing mechanical system performance, providing construction phase support, attending site visits and commissioning activities, evaluating new technologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize system integration and energy usage. The position is based in Arlington, VA but is open to other AECOM office locations and remote work under certain circumstances. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design/engineering with data center infrastructure focus, or equivalent education/experience. Professional Engineer License (P.E.) is required. Preferred: 12+ years of experience, extensive data center or critical facilities background, strong HVAC/piping/fire suppression knowledge, leadership skills, CAD and BIM software experience. Note: Relocation is not available; however, sponsorship is available for qualified candidates.
