Role Overview
The Executive Assistant to the CEO plays a critical role in supporting the Chief Executive Officer and Elected Members through the delivery of high-level, confidential administrative and executive support. This position is central to ensuring the smooth operation of the Executive Office requiring sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
You will be a trusted advisor and key point of coordination, contributing to the effectiveness and productivity of Council's leadership team while maintaining professionalism and discretion at all times.

- Base salary range - $87,141 (negotiable)

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive executive support to the CEO, ensuring priorities are managed efficiently and deadlines are consistently met
- Produce high-quality written materials including briefings, reports, presentations and correspondence, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion
- Facilitate the smooth running of Council meetings by preparing documentation, capturing accurate records and tracking outcomes and actions
- Proactively manage schedules, commitments and travel logistics to maximise the CEO's effectiveness and time management
- Act as the first point of contact for communications into the Executive Office, exercising judgement to triage, respond or escalate matters as appropriate
- Coordinate leadership meetings and support key initiatives by ensuring follow-up actions are progressed and completed
- Plan and organise internal and external events, ensuring all logistical requirements are delivered seamlessly
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, Councillors, government agencies and community stakeholders
- Assist with gathering information and insights to support the development of reports, strategies and decision-making
- Provide support with financial administration tasks such as processing purchases, reconciling expenses and maintaining accurate records
- Represent the Executive Office in a professional manner, delivering responsive and customer-focused service to all stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated background in providing high-level administrative or executive support within a complex or fast-paced environment
- At least 2 years local government experience mandatory
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Experience creating professional documents, reports and communications for senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational capability with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities and work with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across a broad range of stakeholders
- High attention to detail combined with sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
- Understanding of Local Government operations, frameworks or similar environments is advantageous
