"Pollokshaws VetsforPets is a warm, welcoming practice, with an extremely friendly team who all fully support one another. The whole team are well looked after here, (I love that the practice closes over lunchtime to allow staff the opportunity to sit together) the diary is well managed and adequate time is given for appointments and surgeries. The premises are spotlessly clean and extremely organised, and the space is well managed. I am a locum Veterinary Nurse, who has done shifts at Pollokshaws when needed. The practice is actually further away than I would normally travel for work, but it is a testament to how much I enjoyed working here that I am happy to do so!" Suzanne Lennie RVN

We are a friendly and inclusive team who genuinely value each other and enjoy working together. We take pride in building strong relationships with our clients and in delivering the highest standards of patient care, as well as providing a supportive working environment for each other.

We are looking for a friendly, organised and proactive RVN with a genuine passion for the role and enthusiasm for all aspects of first opinion nursing. You'll be working alongside 4 RVNs and 1 SVN rotating through theatre, inpatient care and nurse consult duties. We have a team of Receptionists who work out front, so you are freed up to carry out your nursing role fully, and we will encourage and support any clinical interests you may have.

This role is a part-time position working 2 days a week 8.30-7pm plus 1 in 4 Saturdays in addition to this.

We are a well-established, RCVS accredited practice and are currently working towards our Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation. The practice has been independently run by Michelle for over 10 years. She is supported by Lucy, a highly experienced Head RVN, and Lorna, the Practice Manager, and a fantastic team who are committed to delivering an outstanding level of service. As a Training Practice we pride ourselves on growing future talent and supporting our student nurses through their course.

The practice is purpose-built and located inside a busy Pets At Home store in the south side of Glasgow, close to a great selection of local amenities and well-placed for transport links into the city. Our surgery is equipped with theatre, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound and laboratory facilities, as well as 3 consulting rooms and separate dog, cat and isolation wards. Take a tour here to see more!

Benefits we can offer you include:
  • Competitive salary dependent on your experience up to £32,000 pro rata
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave allowance pro rata (increasing after 2 years' service)
  • Additional day off for your birthday
  • No Sundays or OOH
  • Relocation package
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • CPD allowance and support
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVNA, etc.)
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards including 20% off at VetsforPets, Pets at Home and the Groom Room
