About the client:

Rex Minerals is an Australian mining company dedicated to the development of its flagship A$1.0B Copper-Gold Hillside Project located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The project will be a significant contributor to the South Australian economy and will provide employment opportunities for locals and for those looking to move to the area.

Hillside is in a fantastic location 150km from Adelaide and is one of the largest undeveloped copper / gold projects in Australia. Stage 1 of the project is fully approved and early-stage site access work, awarding of contracts and building the team to execute the project has commenced.

About the positions:

We have X 2 permanent positions available both of which will report to an experienced Environment Manager.

Environment Engineer – Approvals

A new role which is responsible for leading and managing environment approvals for Hillside Mine and ensuring statutory compliance and management of environmental obligations.

Environment Engineer

This position will oversee compliance with all environmental monitoring and reporting requirements. The position will require you to be in the field, co-ordinating the work of environmental technicians and completing inspections and investigations as required.

Experience required:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field
3+ years of experience in operational environmental environments preferably within mining. Specific experience developing and managing approvals would be handy for the Approvals role.
Experience in greenfield mining project environment advantageous but not essential
Previous knowledge of environmental regulations, environmental management systems, and sustainability principles in relation to mining operations in South Australia.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and community stakeholder engagement.
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools and software is advantageous.
Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
