Pharmacist in Charge
— Athens, United StatesAn established compounding pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee regulatory, compliance, and quality operations at its onsite facility in Albany, Ohio. Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Onsite in Albany, Ohio
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge for Ohio and any required non-resident state licenses
- Ensure facility compliance with FDA, DEA, State Boards of Pharmacy, and Section 503B standards
- Maintain licensure requirements for pharmacist staff and the facility across multiple states
- Lead and represent the facility during FDA, DEA, and Board of Pharmacy inspections and regulatory meetings
- Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training programs
- Oversee regulatory reporting, product recalls, complaints management, and quality investigations
- Manage Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities, including batch record reviews, deviations, and environmental monitoring
- Oversee validation processes (equipment, systems, and procedures) and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Review change controls, product labeling, and annual product assessments
- Manage vendor qualification, incoming materials, and reserve sample programs
- Present quality metrics and compliance summaries to site and corporate leadership teams
- Active Ohio Pharmacist license in good standing; multi-state licensure preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing pharmacy or compliance teams
- Strong expertise in cGMP, FDA, DEA regulations, sterile and non-sterile compounding practices
- Proven track record leading regulatory inspections and audits
- Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly present complex regulatory concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- 10+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries
- 7+ years in quality or compliance roles with increasing levels of responsibility
