This is a one-year position covering paternity leave, from late April 2026 for 12 months (start date negotiable). Initial interviews will be held during the weeks of April 6 and April 13, 2026. Successful candidates will be invited to a second-round interview. Key Responsibilities - Lead brand development and oversee internal communications - Ensure a consistent and unified voice across all communication channels - Manage digital communications, including the website and social media platforms - Create compelling, high-quality written content for a variety of audiences Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate will demonstrate: - Proven experience developing and implementing effective communications and marketing strategies, preferably within an educational or academic setting - Strong ability to craft clear, engaging, and impactful messaging - Proficiency in managing and leveraging websites, social media, and digital platforms creatively and strategically - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues - Flexibility, initiative, and a proactive approach - Experience with data analysis to inform strategy and decision-making - Japanese communication skills (desirable) Application Process: Please submit a cover letter along with your updated CV. Job Summary: The Communications and Marketing position leads the School’s holistic communications and marketing strategies. This includes overseeing the school's digital communications presence, leading website management, and social media strategy. Additionally, responsibilities involve leading the school's brand strategy, overseeing comprehensive communications, managing internal communications, and leading marketing strategies for admissions. Additionally the role involves calendar management and keeping monthly reports related to marketing. Main Working Relationships: - Communications team - Director of Operations - Head of School - Community leaders Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 1) Develop and implement a holistic communications and marketing strategy to drive enrollment and advancement goals. - Communication plan responsibilities include developing a data-driven annual communications plan for targeted outreach, collaborating with key stakeholders. - Marketing plan responsibilities include designing a comprehensive marketing strategy that involves captivating content creation, strategic campaign execution, and data-driven analysis. The emphasis is on ensuring a unified approach to positively impact both internal and external stakeholders. 2) Lead the school's digital communications presence by driving the strategy, content, and user experience of the website and other platforms. - Overseeing overall website management, including design, content, user experience, maintenance, and optimization, while maintaining a consistent and compelling voice. The role includes content creation and editing, ensuring brand coherence. Additionally, it includes applying emerging web design tools and technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders to address website issues, plan for future developments, and monitor SEO. Measure results, share data, and provide recommendations. - Overseeing the school's social media strategy on major platforms to engage key audiences and support communication objectives. This involves content creation and scheduling, developing posts aligned with school initiatives, monitoring engagement, responding to comments, and optimizing audience growth. Collaborating with the athletics department, Alumni, and stakeholders to ensure a consistent message. 3) Lead the school's brand strategy by directing brand development, articulating strategic messaging, and creating visual identity guidelines and materials, including collateral materials, advertising, PR, videography content. 4) Oversee internal communications from concept to delivery, tailoring content for targeted audiences, and ensuring brand alignment. This includes regular broadcaster emails, and leading the publication of the weekly YIS Express. 5) Write, manage, and disseminate accurate and engaging internal communications, ensuring consistent messaging across channels for a connected school community. This involves crafting, editing, and updating handbooks, curriculum guides, and other essential resources, overseeing internal websites and intranet sites, and leading the production of regular school communications, including messages from the Head of School and leadership. 6) Support the development and execution of marketing strategies to attract, engage, and onboard new students. 7) Promote and help organize and support school events including back to school nights, information evenings, professional development events and performances. Promote PTSA events including Food Fair and gatherings. 8) Liaise with PTSA Communications Committee to support and enhance PTSA parent communications activity, including website content, Broadcaster emails and special events marketing.
