We're looking for an International Community Coordinator to help create meaningful opportunities for students to connect with global perspectives and experiences.
This role supports a voluntary extracurricular international community where students participate beyond their regular classes to explore different cultures, build global connections, and broaden their perspectives.

ABOUT N GLOBAL GATEWAY
N Global Gateway is the international community of the N High School Group (N High School, S High School, and R High School) and N Junior High School.
Students of all English proficiency levels are welcome to participate.
Participation is voluntary, allowing students to explore international interests, build global connections, and experience intercultural learning beyond their regular classes.
Through online international exchange, cultural workshops, guest lectures, overseas programs, and community activities, students develop intercultural understanding, global awareness, and the confidence to engage with the wider world.

YOUR ROLE
As an International Community Coordinator, you'll play a key role in creating meaningful opportunities for students to connect with people, cultures, and ideas from around the world.
Working closely with school staff, you'll design and facilitate programs that encourage students to explore different cultures, develop global perspectives, and broaden their future possibilities.
You'll also help create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and enjoying natural conversations with international staff.
Most responsibilities are carried out remotely, while occasional in-person support may be requested for special events.
Your responsibilities include:
β’ Planning and organizing international exchange activities and cultural events
β’ Designing and facilitating workshops on world cultures and international understanding
β’ Facilitating online exchange sessions with overseas students and educational institutions
β’ Hosting online Office Hours (approximately two hours per session), where students can ask questions about languages, cultures, studying abroad, international careers, or simply enjoy casual conversations with N Global Gateway staff.
β’ Supporting international events, primarily online, with occasional in-person assistance
β’ Collaborating with school staff to continuously enhance students' international learning experiences
β’ Preparing and submitting reports and activity summaries related to programs and events to support the continuous improvement of students' international learning experiences

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
β’ Native-level English proficiency or equivalent
β’ Ability to communicate effectively in Japanese for day-to-day work and collaboration with school staff
β’ At least three years of experience teaching English at schools in Japan, such as junior high schools, senior high schools, or universities
β’ Available to work approximately three to four hours per day, around three days per week, between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on weekdays
β’ Able to commit to a long-term position
β’ Currently residing in Japan with valid permission to work
Experience teaching in Japanese schools is important because this role supports students as they explore future academic and career opportunities through international learning. A strong understanding of Japan's educational environment helps build meaningful relationships with students and create programs that truly resonate with them.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
β’ TESOL, CELTA, DELTA, or another recognized English language teaching qualification
β’ Experience planning or managing study abroad or international exchange programs
β’ Community management experience
β’ Experience planning events or facilitating workshops

WORKING HOURS & COMPENSATION
Working Hours
β’ Flexible working hours; however, communication with students and school staff is expected between 9am and 6pm (JST).
β’ Responsibilities include hosting online Office Hours (approximately two hours per session)
β’ Participation in scheduled events may occasionally be required on designated dates and times
Compensation
β’ Hourly rate: Β₯4,000
β’ Expected workload: approximately 40β60 hours per month (negotiable)
β’ Estimated monthly earnings: Β₯160,000βΒ₯240,000
β’ Travel and accommodation expenses for occasional in-person events will be fully covered.
