About the Role

We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail oriented Senior Payroll Associate to join our Global Payroll team. This role primarily supports APAC  payroll operations, with potential to expand scope and ownership across the Asia Pacific  over time. The position reports directly to the regional, India based, Senior Payroll Manager.

This role requires a hands-on professional who brings a high standard of rigor, with payroll accuracy, compliance, and timeliness treated as essential operational requirements. 

Responsibilities 

  • Support end-to-end India, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia  payroll processing with minimal supervision, ensuring payrolls are accurate, on time and compliant with current regulations
  • Review payroll output to identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and resolve issues prior to final approval
  • Apply working knowledge of APAC payroll tax regulations to ensure accurate employee setup, calculations and reporting 
  • Manage complex payroll transactions,  including bonuses, retro adjustments, off-cycle payments, and payroll corrections
  • Administer and audit payroll deductions, including pre-tax benefits, retirement plans, and garnishments.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from HR, Benefits, Finance, and employees to resolve issues efficiently and within SLAs
  • Support payroll reconciliations, audits, and year-end activities in collaboration with third party vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Provide backup support and coverage for APAC payrolls as needed
  • Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, document and maintain SOPs
  •  Participate in process improvement, system upgrades and enhancements, testing, and post-implementation stabilization

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience supporting APAC  payroll processing in high volume and complex environment
  • Strong working knowledge of APAC tax regulations, labor laws, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex payroll transactions including issue investigation and resolution
  • Solid understanding of pre-tax benefits administration, wage garnishments, and core  payroll accounting concepts
  • Hands-on experience working with enterprise payroll systems and HRIS platforms (ADP, SuccessFactors).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets, including data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and confidently explain payroll matters
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively  with Multiple stakeholders and cross functional partners across time zones
  • Experience supporting multi-country payrolls or working in a global or shared services environment strongly preferred
