The UIA MUsic Teacher creates an inclusive, inquiry-based classroom that develops the Cambridge Learner Attributes—confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged learners. They teach Cambridge subjects at the appropriate grade level and deliver differentiated lessons that support academic, social, and emotional growth, working closely with families and colleagues to foster curiosity, collaboration, and resilience in students.
Teaching and Learning
• Plan and deliver well-structured, student-centered lessons
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Incorporate inquiry-based, project-based, or experiential learning where appropriate.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and engagement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners.
Assessment and Reporting
• Design and administer formative and summative assessments in line with school guidelines.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth.
• Prepare accurate report cards and attend parent-teacher conferences.
Classroom Management
• Establish clear expectations for behavior and learning.
• Implement the school’s behavior and safeguarding policies consistently. Support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students.
• Foster an inclusive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents to build strong school–home partnerships.
Professional Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with teaching teams to plan units, improve practice, and ensure curriculum continuity.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and training workshops.
• Support co-curricular and extracurricular activities that enrich student development.
School Organisation
• Perform student supervision duties as requested
• Be available for experiential learning (eg Excursions, Week Without Walls, Sports Day)
• Actively participate in school events (This may include but not restricted House Activities, Extra Curricular Activities, Meet the Teachers night, Parent Teacher Conferences, Graduation)
Essential:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject field.
• Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., M.Ed., or equivalent)
• Strong command of English (spoken and written).

Hours - 37.5/week
Periods - Max 24 out of 35
