Full Time Veterinary Surgeon in a Family-Owned Small Animal Clinic in Maribyrnong, Victoria Australia

A well-established, family-owned small animal clinic in Maribyrnong is seeking a caring and collaborative Associate Veterinarian to join their close-knit team. This standalone clinic offers convenience, a loyal client base, and a genuinely supportive working environment.

The Clinic

  • Monday to Friday operations (9am5pm)
  • No Sundays, no public holidays, no after-hours or on-call
  • Busy enough to support two veterinarians
  • Strong reputation for client relationships and continuity of care
  • Experienced leadership with an engaged Senior Nurse / Business Manager
  • Spacious reception and waiting area
  • Two consult rooms and a sterile operating theatre
  • Digital X-ray, dental X-ray, and full in-house pathology
  • Regular visits from medical and surgical specialists
  • Referral support and access to nearby hospitals for overnight care
  • The clinic sees a diverse caseload, including dogs, cats, and a wide range of exotics such as birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, and reptiles, with a strong emphasis on preventative care and husbandry.

The Role
This position suits a veterinarian who enjoys a balance of consulting and surgery and thrives in a team-focused environment.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing medical cases from consult through to follow-up
  • Performing routine and non-routine surgeries aligned with your experience
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with clients
  • Maintaining high standards of patient care and communication
  • Contributing positively to clinic culture and ongoing improvement
  • Engaging in professional development and skill growth
