Electrical Commissioning Engineer (HV/MV/LV/UPS/Generators) - Data Centre

Our Client are currently looking for a Electrical Commissioning Engineer (HV/MV/ LV/UPS/Generators) for a Data Centre - expat assignment in India

Duration: 1-3 years

Location: based on site in India; Mumbai or Hyderabad

Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

Rotation : 8 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Start date: spring 2026

7–12+ years electrical with strong data centre commissioning track record

Role purpose

Lead commissioning for all electrical systems from MV intake through LV distribution, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, grounding, lighting, and EPMS integration, ensuring safe energization and verified redundancy.

Key responsibilities

• Produce discipline-specific commissioning procedures, ITPs, and energization plans.
• Lead HV/ MV switching/energization readiness: protection settings, relay testing, IR/HiPot where applicable.
• Commission UPS systems: load bank testing, battery testing, bypass transfer, harmonic compliance checks.
• Commission generators: synchronization, load acceptance, fuel systems, black start scenarios.
• Validate A/B path independence and redundancy; support IST scenario execution.
• Manage OEMs, specialist test vendors, and electrical subcontractors.
• Maintain commissioning records, redlines/as-builts input, and punch list closure.

Required experience

• 7–12+ years electrical with strong datacentre commissioning track record
• Hands-on knowledge of HV/MV/LV switchgear, protection, UPS topologies, gensets, grounding

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualification; authorized person / switching certification advantageous
