Location: Musashino City, Tokyo
Salary: ¥12,000 per day (transport fully reimbursed)
Applicants: Must currently reside in Tokyo (within a short commuting distance of Musashino)
We are looking for warm, reliable, and enthusiastic Substitute Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) to support English education at safe, well-established public elementary and junior high schools in Musashino City.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, values flexibility, and is looking for meaningful part-time work in a supportive and welcoming environment. A typical day includes 3–4 classes, lunch at school, and supporting fun English activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree (any field)
• At least 12 years of education conducted in English
• At least 1 year of ALT experience in Japan
• Currently living within approximately 45 minutes of Musashino city, Tokyo (by train)
• Basic Japanese ability (JLPT N5 or higher preferred)
• Professional, dependable, and adaptable
• Must have one of the following visas: Instructor / Permanent Resident / Spouse or Child of Japanese National / Dependent (with permission to work at least 28 hours per week).
SCHEDULE & WORK STYLE:
• Working Hours: 8:15 AM – 3:30 PM
• Core Availability: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
• Optional Days: Monday and Thursday
• No evenings or weekends!

About scheduling:
This is a substitute position. Assignments are often offered between 7:30–8:00 AM on the same day, though advance assignments are sometimes available.
We contact available teachers each morning with opportunities. You’re free to accept or decline based on your schedule.
You can accept assignments based on your availability, making this a great option for those who prefer flexible, on-demand work.
Although we cannot guarantee working days, we prioritize offering assignments to reliable teachers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Be ready and available to accept assignments from 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM (same day)
• Support English lessons alongside Japanese Teachers of English (JTEs)
• Lead pronunciation practice, speaking activities, and fun classroom games
• Help prepare teaching materials and assist with classroom management
• Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment for students
