The Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer (Intermediate to Senior level) to join our Auckland team. This role involves the design, documentation, and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through site observation and practical completion. The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively within our structured design and quality framework.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design and Documentation

  • Design of LV electrical power distribution systems
  • Lighting design and associated calculations
  • ICT and structured cabling infrastructure design
  • Security and communications systems design
  • Preparation of specifications, drawings, and engineering reports
  • Electrical load calculations, cable sizing, and fault level analysis

Project Delivery

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors
  • Participate in design meetings and project coordination
  • Deliver projects from concept through to practical completion
  • Ensure compliance with applicable New Zealand standards and project requirements

Construction Phase Services

  • Conduct site inspections and construction monitoring
  • Prepare site observation and defect reports
  • Respond to contractor queries and review shop drawings

Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

  • Minimum 4 years’ electrical engineering design experience in a consulting environment
  • Experience in electrical building services design
  • Strong technical and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience working in New Zealand or familiarity with NZ standards
  • Experience with Revit
  • Experience with AGi32, PowerCad, or similar design software

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Salary range: NZD $80,000 – $120,000 (depending on experience)
  • Salary review based on performance and acclimatisation to New Zealand standards and market

  • 4 weeks annual leave plus 1 additional week company leave
  • Relocation financial assistance available (to be agreed)
