We’re seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to own planning and scheduling across the 0–12 month space. This role is perfect for engineers who operate across short-term execution and medium-term scheduling and want real scope to shape Technical Services, improve production outcomes and pursue an operating leadership pathway.
Key responsibilities
- Own daily, weekly and monthly planning packs, SRF reconciliation and monthly SRF presentation
- Deliver medium-term dig & dump designs, terrace and strip plate works, staged dump progression and haulage pathing
- Manage short-term schedule accuracy including drill & blast sequencing, digger and truck tasking
- Lead commercial recovery projects (ripping/push claims, dayworks validation) and establish evidence/processing for cost recovery
- Chair planning and reconciliation meetings and align plans with Production, Maintenance and stakeholders
- Mentor and develop engineers and improve planning systems, data capture and conformance reporting
- Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent and strong operational mining engineering background (coal preferred)
- Demonstrated capability across the 0–12 month planning horizon — comfortable in both short-term and medium-term planning
- Proficient with Spry, Deswik and Vulcan; significant Deswik experience highly regarded
- Strong drill & blast, dig & dump and haulage optimisation experience
- Experience on terraced and multi-seam operations and ability to manage geological and geotechnical variance
- Clear communicator, systems thinker and proven people leader
- Newly formed senior role with genuine scope to shape Technical Services and drive measurable production and commercial improvements
- Hands-on opportunity on a modern truck & shovel operation with real technical complexity and ownership of the plan
