Housekeeping Attendant
The Explorer Hotel – Yellowknife, NT
The Explorer Hotel is currently seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Housekeeping Attendant to join our team in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. This role is essential to delivering a clean, welcoming, and comfortable experience for our guests and supports both guest‑facing and behind‑the‑scenes operations.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and service guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, vacuuming, dusting, and replenishing amenities.
Maintain cleanliness of public areas, including hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and staff spaces.
Support laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and towels.
Follow proper procedures for the use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.
Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damaged items to supervisors promptly.
Maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with hotel policies and health regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
Knowledge or willingness to learn safe handling of hazardous cleaning materials (WHMIS training is an asset).
Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Eligibility & Employment Details
This position is intended for local candidates.
Not eligible for employer sponsorship, except under the Francophone Mobility Program.
Relocation assistance is available within Canada for successful candidates committing to a two‑year term of employment.
Shared, subsidized staff accommodations are available for full‑time employees.
