People Operations Partner
β Barcelona, SpainWHO WE ARE π
Manychat is a leading chat marketing platform, helping businesses engage with their customers on Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Trusted by over 1 million brands in 170+ countries, we're an official Meta Business Partner, backed by Bessemer Venture Partners. With 400+ teammates across offices in Austin, Barcelona, Yerevan, SΓ£o Paulo, and Amsterdam β we're building the infrastructure of conversational commerce.
THE CONTEXT
Manychat's People Operations runs on a hub model. Each location β Spain, Netherlands, Brazil, Armenia, US β has a People Operations Partner who owns everything: the full employee lifecycle on the ground, the local workplace experience, and the day-to-day people experience in that hub.
You are Manychat Spain's single trusted People Operations expert. You operate within a global framework β global standards, tools, and domain leads who own Payroll, Compliance, People Tech, Workplace & Experience, and Rewards. But in Barcelona, the experience lives with you.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR π
We are looking for a People Operations Partner who can run the full people function for Manychat Spain β independently, confidently, and without hand-holding.
This is not a specialist role. You cover the full lifecycle, workplace operations, events, and everything in between. The measure of success is simple: people in Spain have a seamless, high-quality experience, processes are clean, and you know what's happening before it becomes a problem.
What distinguishes this role:
- You own the hub β not a piece of it. Everything people-related in Spain runs through you
- You work with global domain leads (Payroll, Compliance, People Tech, Workplace & Experience, Rewards) β they set the standards and tools; you own the local execution
- AI is infrastructure, not optional β you build self-service and automation into your daily operations
You thrive in a fast-moving, international environment. You're equally comfortable advising a manager on a sensitive termination and coordinating a team offsite. You act before you're asked.
WHAT YOU'LL DO π
Own the Spain Hub
- Be the single point of contact for all people matters in Spain β for employees, managers, and global domain leads
- Own the local roadmap: what needs to improve, what's next, what success looks like for the Spain hub
- Maintain a clear view of what's happening in the location β headcount, team health, open cases β and surface it proactively to the Head of People Operations
Employee Lifecycle, End-to-End
- Own the full lifecycle for Spain: pre-boarding, onboarding, transfers, role changes, compensation adjustments, offboarding
- Manage complex and sensitive cases β difficult terminations β with care and in close partnership with the Compliance Partner
- Own HRIS data quality in Humaans β employee records, org data, process accuracy
- Coordinate payroll inputs accurately and on time with the Payroll Partner
Relocation & Settling-In
- Coordinate settling-in support for employees relocating to Spain β partner with external settling-in service providers and guide employees through the process from offer acceptance through their first months
- Coordinate with immigration consultants and legal partners where needed
- Support employees throughout β documentation, practical questions, the stuff that actually slows people down
Office, Workplace & Events
- Own the day-to-day Barcelona office β facilities, vendors, employee requests, and local operations
- Distribute global programs locally: welcome packs, swag, perks and recognition initiatives β in coordination with the global Workplace & Experience team
- Organize and execute local team-buildings, internal events, and logistics for Barcelona-hosted offsites
- Manage facilities vendors, building management, and office operations end-to-end
Build AI-Native Operations
- Default to automation for employee queries, document generation, onboarding workflows, and operational logistics where possible
- Build self-service so employees don't need to contact you for anything a good system can answer
- Work with the People Tech lead to improve HR system workflows and automation in Spain
Connect to the Global Function
- Work within the standards and tools set by domain leads β bring the global framework to life locally
- Contribute to global People Ops initiatives and ensure Spain is consistent with the global model
- Share what works in Spain with the hub community across locations
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE (6 months)
- People in Spain have a seamless experience across the full lifecycle β no gaps, no delays
- Local processes and documentation are clean and current
- Every open case is handled β or you know exactly where it stands and what's next
- Office runs without daily intervention β vendors, operations, and requests handled proactively
- AI and self-service handle the majority of routine employee queries
- The Head of People Operations gets your updates, not surprises

Skills & Mindset
- Ownership instinct: you see what needs to be done and do it β across lifecycle, workplace, whatever comes
- AI-native: you look for what to systematize, not what to protect
