Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care
— Midland, AustraliaThis is an exciting opportunity to join St John of God Midland Private Hospital at the opening of the hospital in August 2026 as a Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care.
As an expert clinician, you’ll provide advanced assessments, diagnostics, therapeutic interventions and prescribing within your scope. You’ll work closely with Visiting Medical Officers and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based care while leading improvements across the service.
You will be part of a founding clinical team, contributing to the establishment of best practice models of care while delivering safe, effective and patient centred critical care services.
Key Responsibilities

Lead advanced, holistic patient assessments and clinical decision-making.

Initiate diagnostics, develop management plans and prescribe safely.

Provide expert leadership during medical emergencies and deterioration reviews.

Support and guide the multidisciplinary team with specialist knowledge.

Drive innovation, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.

Contribute to education, clinical guideline development and service enhancement.
You will be an endorsed Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in acute care and a passion for delivering high-quality, evidence-based practice. Your ability to lead confidently, communicate effectively and collaborate across disciplines will be essential to your success in this role.
You will bring sound clinical judgement, a commitment to patient safety and continuous professional growth, along with the drive to influence practice standards and contribute meaningfully to an engaged, high performing team.

About the new Midland Private Hospital

A brand-new purpose-built state-of-the-art facility, currently under construction, located just 300 metres from the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Campus.

A comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, with interventional cardiology being offered for the first time in the region

The hospital will feature:

96 overnight inpatient beds, including a six-bed critical care/high dependency unit.

33-bed/chair short stay and day procedure unit

Eight operating theatres.

A cardiac/vascular catheter laboratory
We can offer you

Salary: $137,294 to $164,360 (pro rata for part time) plus 12% superannuation
-
Permanent Part time, contracted hours to be negotiated up to 70 hours a fortnight
