We are recruiting Live-in Caregivers to work in Ireland, supporting clients in their own homes.


This opportunity is open to candidates currently living in Ireland as well as international candidates who already have the legal right to work in Ireland. The employer does not provide visa sponsorship.


For successful candidates relocating from abroad, relocation support is provided, including flights, accommodation, food and transport in accordance with the placement arrangements.


The Role


As a Live-in Caregiver, you will live in the client's home and provide practical care, companionship and household support based on the individual's needs and care plan.


The typical working pattern is an 8-week rotation followed by 8 weeks off.


Your responsibilities may include:


  • Supporting clients with bathing, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene
  • Assisting with toileting and continence care
  • Supporting mobility, walking and safe transfers
  • Preparing meals and supporting good nutrition
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Accompanying clients to appointments and local activities
  • Supporting shopping and local errands
  • Light housekeeping, laundry and general household tasks
  • Supporting clients with walks and outdoor activities
  • Providing medication and appointment reminders in line with the care plan
  • Supporting basic household tasks where required
  • Communicating with care management teams about changes in client needs
  • Maintaining appropriate care records and following the client's care plan


Requirements


You should have:


  • At least 6 months' recent professional care experience
  • Experience in a nursing home, hospital, home care, live-in care or another professional care setting
  • Good spoken and written English
  • A caring, respectful and client-focused approach
  • The ability to work independently and adapt to different home environments
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and respect clients' privacy
  • The physical ability to carry out the requirements of the role
  • Basic IT skills
  • Willingness to complete mandatory training and background checks
  • Ability to successfully complete Irish Garda vetting


Qualification


Candidates who hold QQI Level 5 Care Skills and Care of the Older Person, or an equivalent recognised qualification, will be eligible for the higher pay band.


Candidates without this qualification may still be considered for the lower pay band, subject to the employer's requirements and completion of the required training.


Right to Work in Ireland


Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Applicants must already have the legal right to work in Ireland, such as:


  • EU/EEA/Swiss citizenship; or
  • Valid Irish immigration permission allowing employment, such as Stamp 4


Candidates currently living outside Ireland are welcome to apply if they meet the right-to-work requirements and are able to relocate.


Relocation Package


For eligible candidates relocating to Ireland, the employer provides comprehensive relocation support as part of the placement, which may include:


  • Flight/travel arrangements
  • Accommodation
  • Food
  • Transport
  • Travel support associated with rotations


Support with required onboarding and training in Ireland


The exact relocation arrangements will be confirmed with successful candidates as part of the onboarding process.


Pay


Band 1 – Unqualified

€14.15 per hour, Monday to Saturday

€16.27 per hour, Sunday

€20 sleeping night allowance, Monday to Saturday

€30 sleeping night allowance, Sunday


Band 2 – Qualified


For candidates holding a verified QQI Level 5 qualification in Care Skills and Care of the Older Person, or an equivalent recognised qualification:


€14.94 per hour, Monday to Saturday

€17.18 per hour, Sunday

€20 sleeping night allowance, Monday to Saturday

€30 sleeping night allowance, Sunday


Candidates caring for a couple receive an additional 15% on their applicable hourly rate.

Training


Successful candidates will complete mandatory training as part of the recruitment and onboarding process, including:


  • HSELand online training

  • Patient Moving and Manual Handling training
  • Dementia training
  • Other mandatory care training as required


Working Pattern


Live-in care

Typically 8 weeks on / 8 weeks off

Rotational working

Weekend and overnight work required

Exact duties and arrangements depend on the client's individual care requirements
