It is our goal to break down this barrier by developing the technology that will allow people with visual impairments to travel independently, participate in society and live the life they want to live.
This is why we started Luna, a startup that is utilizing the latest developments in augmented reality display technology and computer vision to create small form factor augmented reality glasses for people with visual impairments. We have an interdisciplinary development team that includes engineers, designers and vision specialists. Together, we are bringing this dream to life through the development of intuitive products that improve the quality of life of our users. We have just finished development and certification of our first product and are looking to expand our team to make the next version of our glasses and bring it to mass-production.
Are you passionate about leveraging cutting edge technology to make a profound difference in people's lives? If so, we are looking for a Lead Engineer to help us create augmented reality glasses to support people with visual impairments.
In this role, you will lead the end-to-end development of innovative products, translating customer needs into system requirements and a robust system architecture. You will guide a multidisciplinary team through the entire development process, connecting disciplines such as electronics, firmware, software, mechanics, and industrial design. You will help the team in ensuring successful problem-solving, integration, verification, certification, and transition to production.
What we are looking for:
- > 10 years of experience in product development;
- Experience with bringing hardware products to the market;
- Experience with product certification, specific experience with MDR-class 1 products is preferred;
- Experience with design for manufacturing;
- Experience with working according to ISO-9001 or ISO-13485 is preferred;
- Experience managing external development partners;
- Strong communication and leadership skills;
- Proactive, pragmatic and result-oriented;
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design, systems engineering, or a related field;
- Availability of 1.0 FTE, with a minimum on-site presence of 60%.
