Description (EN)

Family Violence Case Worker
Full-time | Permanent
$91,000 - $102,000 + Super + Salary Packaging
Location: Alice Springs (with regular remote community travel)

Are you passionate about working alongside Aboriginal communities and making a meaningful difference in the lives of women and children?

This is a unique opportunity to step into a deeply rewarding role supporting Aboriginal women and families across Central Australia. Based in Alice Springs, you'll be part of a service delivering culturally grounded, wrap-around support-while regularly travelling to remote communities and building strong, respectful relationships on Country.

About the Role

In this role, you will walk alongside women and children who are experiencing, or at risk of, family violence-providing culturally safe, trauma-informed support that empowers choice, safety, and connection to community.

A key part of the role involves spending time "out bush" (approximately 1-2 weeks per month), working directly in remote communities. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in community-led practice, gain invaluable cultural experience, and contribute to meaningful, long-term outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting and advocating for women and children impacted by family violence

  • Delivering outreach services to remote Aboriginal communities across Central Australia

  • Building strong, respectful relationships with clients, families, and community networks

  • Providing safety planning, case management, and referrals

  • Working collaboratively as part of a passionate, purpose-driven team

About You

  • You are genuinely committed to working in partnership with Aboriginal communities

  • You bring experience in family violence, community services, or a related field

  • You are confident working autonomously, particularly in remote settings

  • You have strong cultural awareness and a willingness to listen, learn, and adapt

  • You hold a relevant qualification (or significant sector experience)

  • You have a driver's licence and are open to learning 4WD/manual driving

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Meaningful, on-the-ground impact in remote communities

  • 6 months free accommodation to support your relocation (secure, furnished staff housing)

  • Relocation assistance of $3,000 - $5,000

  • Travel opportunities with all logistics covered (vehicle, accommodation, allowance)

  • Competitive salary + salary packaging benefits

  • A rare chance to build both your professional skills and cultural knowledge in a unique setting

Additional Information

  • This is a female-identified position

  • Visa sponsorship may be considered after a 6-month probation period (subject to performance and organisational capacity)

  • Applicants must have at least 6 months remaining on their visa at commencement
