At GE Vernova Singapore Services (GEVSS), Lean is the way we work.We are seeking a Senior Operations Manager (Turbine Blades Cell Leader) to lead a critical repair cell within our gas turbine components operation. This role is accountable for driving end-to-end cell performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) while building a high-performing team culture grounded in Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement.
You will lead daily operations at the gemba, transforming processes through waste elimination, flow creation, and practical automation, while developing a strong pipeline of frontline leaders and technical capability.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Safety & Compliance Leadership

Champion a “Safety First” culture with zero-compromise mindset

Drive EHS compliance, risk identification, and mitigation across all blade repair processes

Lead incident investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions
2. Operational Excellence & Delivery
-
Own daily, weekly, and monthly execution of turbine blades repair operations
-
Deliver on customer commitments with predictable output and schedule adherence
-
Drive capacity planning, line balancing, and constraint removal to ensure flow
3. Quality Leadership
-
Embed a “Quality Always” mindset through process discipline and standard work
-
Drive defect reduction, root cause problem solving, and process capability improvements
-
Partner with Quality teams to ensure compliance to repair specifications and standards
4. Lean Transformation & Continuous Improvement
-
Lead Kaizen events and daily Lean management within the cell
-
Apply Lean before automation principles—eliminate waste, create flow, then automate

Drive Lead time and WIP reduction, reduction of manual handling and non-value-added work, One-piece flow implementation, such as:

Drive improvements & Roadmap actions, Utilize data, analytics and practical tools (e.g., PLC, fixtures, moonshine solutions) to enhance performance
5. Cost & Productivity Management

Own cell-level productivity, efficiency, and cost performance

Drive improvements in: Applied hours and labor utilization, Overtime and resource optimization, Inventory and WIP control

Translate operational metrics into financial impact
6. People Leadership & Culture

Build and sustain a high-performing team with a strong “one team” and “can-do” spirit

Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, engineers, and operators

Drive engagement, accountability, and ownership at all levels

Develop succession pipeline and technical depth within the cell
7. Daily Management & Operating Rhythm

Lead tiered daily management (Gemba, visual management, standard work

Drive structured problem solving and escalation processes

Ensure clear communication and alignment across shifts and functions
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Engineering, Quality, Lean, Maintenance, and Planning teams

Drive new product repair introduction in the cell, support process industrialization, and capability upgrades

Contribute to site-wide transformation initiatives and best practice sharing
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
-
8–12+ years of manufacturing or repair operations experience
-
Proven leadership experience managing shopfloor operations or production cells
-
Strong background in Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement
-
Experience in gas turbine, aerospace, MRO, or precision component repair preferred
