Kindergarten English Teacher : Kanagawa : August / September 2026

JOYTALK is now accepting applications for energetic and enthusiastic native English speakers to work as part-time kindergarten English teachers in Yokohama City or Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, with training to be held before the work assignment begins. ● REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must: ・ be native speakers of English ・ be willing to commit to at least the end of the school year at the end of March 2027 ・ enjoy working with children ・ be able to follow a specific curriculum for teaching English ・ be able to supervise children outside of class when required ・ be a team player ・ be outgoing with students and teachers taking initiative even in situations where English is not the main language Applicants would also be highly regarded if they have or hold: ・ childcare qualifications or certifications ・ early childhood education qualifications ・ conversational Japanese language skills ・ have previous kindergarten experience or teaching experience with children in their home country ● CONDITIONS & BENEFITS: ・ Work regularly at the assigned kindergarten in Yokohama on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, and otherwise any shifts, if available, as a substitute teacher for our regular full-time kindergarten teachers in Yokohama and Sagamihara cities in Kanagawa. ・ The pay for the regular part-time classes in Yokohama would be 2,000 yen per hour. ・ Pay for substitute work up to 2 hours would be at the same rate. A requested shift longer than 2.5 hours would be paid at 1,500 yen per hour, up to 8 hours (totalling a maximum of 12,000 yen per day worked). ・ Transportation would be paid on top of the pay for working hours.
