The Role
As a Field Service Technician, you will support major construction projects across Dalby and Toowoomba and surrounding areas, ensuring maximum fleet uptime and reducing breakdowns.
You’ll be the key link between the client on-site and the Fleet Operations Manager, diagnosing and resolving issues independently while working closely with the workshop team when major repairs are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintenance of diesel-powered heavy plant machinery
- Diagnostics and fault finding (mechanical, electrical & hydraulic)
- Troubleshooting using diagnostic computer systems
- Electrical repairs and component replacement
- Hydraulic system inspections and repairs
- Component change-outs (remove, repair, replace)
- Liaising with the parts department to manage parts orders
- Maintaining strong communication with clients on-site
Equipment ranges from 4T to 120T, including:
- Excavators
- Wheel Loaders
- Mobile Cranes
- Foundation Machinery
- Mobile Crushers
- Road Compaction Equipment
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Cert III in Heavy Plant / Mobile Plant Technology
- 2–3+ years Field Service experience
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability
- Solid hydraulic knowledge
- HR Licence
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Willingness to travel locally as required
