General Manager - Automotive Products

We’re assisting a well-established automotive products business based in Honiara, Solomon Islands. With a loyal customer base, diverse product mix, and long-standing reputation in the region, the business is now looking for a General Manager to take over from a long-term incumbent (who we placed over 12 years ago).

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take full responsibility for the operation — from inventory and supplier management through to team leadership and commercial performance. You’ll be managing a team across two sites, overseeing stock coming in from Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, and ensuring the business continues to run efficiently in a market where forward planning and adaptability are critical.

The operation is built around automotive products, with strong demand across Japanese vehicle segments, alongside additional revenue streams including power equipment, generators, and specialist supply contracts. There is clear opportunity to grow areas such as oils and filters, as well as expand into broader product sourcing for key commercial clients.

Success in this role will come down to your ability to think ahead, manage stock effectively in a challenging supply chain environment, and identify opportunities beyond the traditional scope of the business. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, making decisions, and taking ownership of outcomes — this is not a role where you’ll be micromanaged.

This role will suit an experienced automotive products or parts professional — ideally someone who has operated at a senior level and is looking for a change of pace without stepping away from meaningful responsibility. Candidates with experience in PNG, remote locations, or international environments will be highly regarded.
