Description (EN)

Technical owner of complex development projects where precision engineering, advanced manufacturing and high-tech applications come together

Do you enjoy solving technical challenges where no standard solution exists?

At LouwersHanique, you develop new products, manufacturing processes and technologies together with leading customers in Semiconductor, Medical Devices, Analytical Technology and Aerospace & Defence.

As Lead Engineer R&D, you play a key role in complex New Business Development projects. You work on high-precision applications based on technical glass, ceramics and specialised material combinations, where precision engineering, manufacturing technology and product functionality come together.

Think of developing miniature glass-based medical implants, including new manufacturing and micro-assembly processes, or high-voltage and high-density feedthrough solutions for semiconductor and aerospace applications, where optomechanics, laser processing, microfabrication and manufacturability are crucial.

You are technically responsible for development projects and work closely with customers, engineers and production teams to translate innovative concepts into stable and scalable manufacturing processes.

This role is ideal for an engineer who wants to combine deep technical expertise with innovation, customer interaction and hands-on technology development.

Your role

As Lead Engineer R&D, you are the technical owner of complex development projects, from first concept and prototype towards industrialisation.

You work in multidisciplinary teams with customers, R&D specialists, manufacturing engineers, production and sales.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading technically complex development projects for high-tech customers.
  • Translating customer challenges into feasible product concepts, process routes and manufacturing solutions.
  • Developing new concepts, precision tooling and production methods.
  • Applying technologies such as precision engineering, laser processing, microfabrication, micro machining, optical/medical micro-assembly, simulations and validation.
  • Guiding prototypes, testing and validation towards a stable and scalable production process.
  • Defining technical choices, risks and development strategies.
  • Acting as the technical point of contact for customers during development.

You combine technical depth with a practical view on manufacturability, quality, cost and future applications.

Your profile

You are an engineering-driven professional who turns complex technical challenges into practical, manufacturable solutions.

You bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Optics/Photonics or comparable.
  • Experience in R&D, product development, process development or advanced manufacturing within a high-tech environment.
  • Experience bringing concepts and prototypes towards production.
  • Knowledge of one or more relevant domains, such as precision engineering, optics/optomechanics, laser technology, micro-assembly, microfabrication, high-precision manufacturing, medical devices or semiconductor equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured engineering approach.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Good command of English.

You currently live in the Netherlands, preferably in the Eindhoven - Tilburg region or within commuting distance of Hapert.

Visa sponsorship or relocation support is not available for this position.

What we offer

You will become part of an international high-tech organisation where R&D, engineering and manufacturing work closely together.

We offer:

  • A key technical role in New Business Development projects for international high-tech customers.
  • The opportunity to work on unique applications involving technical glass, ceramics and high-precision manufacturing.
  • A role with ownership, freedom and direct impact on future technologies.
  • A salary between €5,000 and €7,000 gross per month based on a 40-hour working week.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • 25 vacation days and 13 ADV days.
  • 8% holiday allowance and profit sharing based on company results.
  • Training and development opportunities.
  • An open, pragmatic culture with short communication lines and a strong focus on technology.
