As the Mining Sales Representative within Resource Industries Sales, Service & Technology (RISST), you will be the primary commercial contact for Hastings Deering across Queensland, the Northern Territory, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands. Your focus will be to drive Resource Industries Prime sales and achieve key commercial objectives across the region.
This role plays a critical part in delivering value to customers by supporting the sale of Caterpillar’s extensive mining product portfolio, including machines, technology, and services. Working closely with Resource Industries product groups, the Mining Centre of Excellence (MCOE), and dealer partners, you will lead commercial processes and provide tailored customer solutions.
Based in Brisbane, you will collaborate extensively with Hastings Deering’s mining sales and marketing teams, operating within complex, cross‑functional deal teams to deliver commercial outcomes and results.
Key Responsibilities

Provide commercial, marketing, and sales support across the assigned territory

Drive value-based selling of Caterpillar mining machines, services, and technologies

Achieve annual business plan targets, including PINS and CVA POS objectives

Manage dealer pricing, sales execution, and associated commercial administration

Support dealers in the development and execution of comprehensive deal strategies

Develop and support growth strategies for assigned dealers

Measure, assess, and enhance dealer value-selling capabilities

Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent industry experience

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a field-based commercial or sales role

Strong mining industry and product knowledge

Proven ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate effectively at all organisational levels

The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams, dealers, and customers
-
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills
-
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
