Director Analyst - Software Engineering Technologies and Practices

Gartner seeks a Director Analyst for Software Engineering Technologies and Practices based in Japan. You will create thought-leading research insights for technology leaders globally, analyze software engineering trends including AI-native development, APIs, integration, automation, and DevSecOps practices. Responsibilities include producing 'must-have research' publications, presenting at global conferences, engaging with C-level clients on-site and virtually, analyzing vendors and markets, and mentoring team members. Requirements: Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years in related field; experience leading software development teams; expertise in APIs, iPaaS, AI/LLMs (GPT, Claude, Gemini), generative AI agents, app modernization, CI/CD, DevSecOps; ability to establish credibility with executives; strong research, writing, and presentation skills at keynote level; ability to travel up to 25%; proficiency in data analysis and business acumen.
