Kyoto Food Tour Guide - Ramen & Local Food Experiences

Love Japanese food and sharing local culture with travelers from around the world? We’re looking for an outgoing, food-loving guide based in Kyoto to lead small-group food and cultural experiences. Tours may include ramen tastings, local street food, neighborhood walks, and occasional full-day private experiences around Kyoto and nearby areas. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys connecting with people, telling stories, and helping visitors experience a more local side of Japan beyond the typical tourist spots. Location: Kyoto, Japan Job Type: Part-Time / Flexible Schedule Compensation: 3,000 – 4,000 Yen / hour + Transportation Responsibilities: - Guiding small-group food tours and private experiences - Introducing guests to Kyoto’s food culture and local neighborhoods - Leading conversations and answering guest questions - Keeping tours engaging, relaxed, and well-paced - Occasionally assisting with longer or custom food-focused day tours Qualifications: - Strong English communication skills - Friendly, confident, and personable - Passion for food, culture, and hospitality - Living in Kyoto or nearby Kansai area - Bonus: Japanese ability and/or guiding experience What You’ll Gain: - Flexible hours and a fun working environment - Deep knowledge of Japanese food and culture - Experience with an internationally recognized food tour company - Opportunity to work with a supportive, tight-knit team Most tours take place in Kyoto, with occasional opportunities to assist on tours in Osaka or nearby Kansai areas.
