As our Lab and Cleanroom Manager, you are the operational backbone of our expansion. You will be "building the plane while flying", helping to design and commission our new state-of-the-art facilities while ensuring our current labs remain 100% operational and productive.

This is a highly hands-on role where you balance long-term infrastructure strategy with the daily grit of a scale-up: from coordinating complex waste removal and chemical procurement to optimizing floor space for incoming tools. You’ll be the person who ensures that when our researchers walk in, the environment is safe, the supplies are stocked, and the path to innovation is clear.

What you'll be doing

• Master the Daily Operations: Take a hands-on approach to lab health, including ordering and maintaining inventory of chemicals/supplies, managing specialized waste streams, coordinating industrial cleaning and utility services , and physically reconfiguring spaces to accommodate new tools.

• Drive Operational Excellence: Roll out industry-standard cleanroom best practices, moving beyond mere policy to influence real-world behavior and measurable improvements in a high-pressure scale-up environment.

• Safety Leadership & Compliance: Coordinate the RI&E (Risk Inventory & Evaluation) and action plans for non-routine activities, machine safety and hazardous materials, ensuring we stay fully compliant with all regulatory requirements, participate in internal audits and facilitate external audits and inspections.

• Culture & Training: Build a proactive culture of safety among international teams of "smart creatives," providing the necessary training and "stick and carrot" reinforcement to ensure discipline.

• Process Integration: Support R&D and Operations by performing risk assessments for new materials or tools, finding safe and pragmatic ways to implement high-risk processes safely.

Your Profile

• Industrial Expertise: Several years of experience managing labs or cleanrooms in an industrial setting, with deep knowledge of machines and chemicals (experience in a semiconductor scale-up is a significant advantage).

• The "Scale-up" Spirit: You thrive in fast-paced environments where you need to be "strict when needed, loose when possible," and you aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves for hands-on tasks.

• Influencing Skills: You can effectively manage and influence a diverse, international team of young academics and engineers, balancing their need for speed with the necessity of safety.

• Operational Precision: Highly organized with a proven track record in procurement, waste management, and facility maintenance within high-tech or cleanroom environments.

• Problem Solver: You have a "get it done" attitude, able to find creative solutions for space constraints, logistics bottlenecks, and safety challenges during rapid growth.
