Are you looking to build a data platform from scratch as the first engineer in a brand-new team? Do you want to own event streaming, data contracts and data quality for business-critical trading systems? Then read on!
My client is a trading firm in Amsterdam that is setting up a new Data Platform team. As the first hire you will report directly to the manager and lay the foundation for a multi-year initiative: consolidating dozens of data streams into one modern platform. You will build with Redpanda, Debezium, Terraform and Kubernetes in the cloud (AWS/Azure), solve data quality issues at the source and give development teams end-to-end ownership of their data.
Your profile:
You are a data platform engineer with a strong streaming background, and just as much a coach as a technician. You enjoy explaining complex concepts, guiding other teams towards better practices and building consensus with opinionated stakeholders, from developers to traders.
Requirements:
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL
- Experience with AWS or Azure
- Experience with Python
- Experience in a trading environment
