Working on an expat FIFO basis from Karachi, you will be instrumental in optimising SAP S4HANA and ARIBA systems, enhancing process efficiency, and delivering data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making. The Role
The Inventory Specialist – Performance and System Optimisation is responsible for driving the continuous improvement and optimisation of supply chain systems, processes, and performance metrics. This technical role ensures effective integration, utilisation, and enhancement of ERP systems to support operational efficiency, data accuracy, and strategic decision-making across the supply chain function.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
We are particularly interested to hear from experienced supply chain systems specialists in the MINING or HEAVY INDUSTRY sector that meet the following criteria:

System Analysis & Optimisation

• Analyse system workflows and performance data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
• Lead and implement optimisation initiatives across inventory, procurement, and logistics modules in SAP S4HANA
• Conduct root cause analysis for system-related issues and provide solutions in coordination with IT and functional leads
• Evaluate and recommend digital tools or technologies to enhance visibility and reporting capabilities

Performance Management & Reporting

• Develop and monitor KPIs and dashboards to track performance across supply chain functions
• Prepare and present system performance reports to senior leadership
• Ensure master data integrity and coordinate with data stewards to maintain high standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with operational needs and business objectives
• Liaise with SAP/Ariba support teams to implement system enhancements, upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Support training and capacity building for end-users on ERP tools and system updates

Qualifications and Experience
Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

Experience:

• 5 years of experience in supply chain systems optimisation or ERP process improvement, preferably in the mining or heavy industries
• Proven experience with SAP S4HANA (MM, PM, IM modules), Ariba, and related analytical tools
• Hands-on experience with performance analysis, reporting tools (Power BI, Excel), and change management

Skills and Capabilities
Core Competencies:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
• Work with SAP Material Management ( S4 Hana) , specifically in a inventory management capacity
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage timelines effectively
• Knowledge of process mapping, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Have advanced MS excel skills (Power BI skills, not essential but preferred)
• Demostrated experience in determining stock levels
• Understand inventory types in a mining context (SLOW movers, Fast movers, strategic, obsolete )
• Understand MRP Types on SAP (V1, VB, DP, NLAG, ROT)
• Need to be able to segment stock based on movement or aging
• Understand obsolescence and stock returns
