Job Description — International School Assistant Teacher School1: ISLE Yoyogi-Uehara https://isle-school.com/ Position: International School Teacher (Assistant → Lead Teacher Path) Age Group: 1–12 years old Work Style: Warm, home-like (At-home atmosphere) Contract Type: Part-time Location: Yoyogi-Uehara, Tokyo　1-minute walk from Yoyogi-Uehara Station School2：Tesoro International School https://www.tesorointernationalschool.com/ Position: International School Teacher Age Group: 2–6 years old Work Style: Warm, home-like (At-home atmosphere), Curriculum Based Contract Type: Part-time Location: Ichigaya, Tokyo　2-minute walk from Ichigaya Station (Nanboku Line) You will initially be based at ISLE; however, moving forward, there is a possibility you could be transferred to Tesoro International School or take on a dual role as we open new school locations! ■About Us ISLE Yoyogi-Uehara is an at-home, international preschool that provides a warm and engaging learning environment for children aged 1–12. We offer small class sizes (max 10 students per teacher) to ensure each child receives personalized attention and meaningful interaction. ■Responsibilities As an Assistant International School Teacher, you will: -Assist the main teacher during daily lessons and classroom activities -Learn and follow the school's curriculum and teaching methods -Support activities such as circle time, songs, arts and crafts, games, and play-based learning -Encourage children's participation and help create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment -Provide support during daily routines, including snack time, toilet support, transitions, and activities -Use basic Japanese when needed to support children’s understanding and classroom communication -Offer prompts, ideas, and observations to help the main teacher and improve classroom flow -Prepare classroom materials and assist with setup and cleanup -Communicate effectively with staff and contribute to daily school operations Participate in seasonal events, meetings, and school activities when needed As you become familiar with our curriculum and demonstrate strong performance, there may be opportunities to become a main teacher and take greater ownership of classroom management and lesson delivery. ■Requirements Must-have -Currently live in Japan and have a valid visa. -Native-level English proficiency -Be punctual and responsible. -High communication skills -Eager to learn and try new things. -Be an active thinker, patient, friendly and flexible. -Be a good observer. -Be a team player -Be able to Expand ideas of each class based on the school’s curriculum (Creative Curriculum) -Experience working with young children (1–6 years old) Nice-to-have -Basic knowledge of Japanese language -Experience in early childhood education -Ability to work independently and manage small groups -Enjoy dancing and singing with kids ■Contract & Compensation -This is a Part-time position (パートタイマー/アルバイト) with hourly payment. Hourly Wage: ¥1,500 – ¥2,500 / hour (Commensurate with qualifications and experience) Transportation allowance provided ■Working Hours Monday to Friday -Preschool Program (Currently closed): 9:30–13:30 -Kindergarten Program: 15:20–17:20 -Elementary Program: 17:30-18:30 You may work either program or all, depending on availability. ■Start Date Negotiable / Immediate start available ■Application Documents Resume (Required) At our school, we believe that great teachers continue to learn and grow every day.
