Opportunity Overview

As a Field Application Engineer, you will be a commercially minded technical expert responsible for supporting revenue growth by working with sales teams, partners, and customers to identify, validate, and implement automation solutions based on Universal Robots and Mobile Industrial Robots technologies. The role combines pre-sales engineering, technical validation, partner enablement, and post-sales application optimization. The work is field-based and requires regular customer engagement and approximately 50 % travel.

Your key responsibilities will include:

+ Leading technical verification of potential applications - assessing cycle time, payload, reach, and integration risks, and preparing go/no-go recommendations before a quotation is issued.

+ Developing and validating applications using UR & MiR technology: performing simulations and feasibility studies, and identifying and mitigating technical risks.

+ Collaborating with sales teams and partners - participating in meetings, customer visits, and line walks, identifying automation potential, and generating qualified opportunities.

+ Building proofs of concept and demonstrations, and delivering training and enablement programmes for partners and integrators.

+ Ensuring CRM transparency - actively using Salesforce, documenting validation statuses, risks, and customer interactions, and reporting line walk outcomes.

+ Working with regional and HQ teams - sharing best practices and market feedback, optimizing existing installations, and taking part in trade fairs, preparing case studies and marketing materials.

All About You

We seek individuals who share our passion and determination. Our commitment to customer success drives us to go the extra mile. If you're ready to join us in this mission, take a closer look at the minimum criteria for the position.

+ Education - completed higher education in automation, robotics, mechatronics, electronics, or related fields (or equivalent experience).

+ Experience - at least three years in application engineering, industrial automation, robotics, or technical sales support.

+ Technical skills - hands-on knowledge of Universal Robots and/or Mobile Industrial Robots systems, with the ability to perform feasibility analyses, simulations, and risk assessments.

+ Commercial mindset - focus on sales and collaboration with customers, sales teams, and partners to identify and develop business opportunities.

+ CRM proficiency - experience with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and discipline in documenting activities, updating statuses, and reporting.

+ Soft skills - excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to work as part of a team and to transfer knowledge to partners; readiness for approximately 50 % travel.

+ Independence and accountability - willingness to take ownership of technical recommendations and deliver results.

+ Preferred additional assets - experience integrating robots with PLC systems, familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., RoboDK, Visual Components), additional languages (English & German required; another EMEA language is a plus), and experience in sectors such as F&B, automotive, pharmaceutical, or logistics.
