[Position Overview] CGK is seeking a qualified and experienced homeroom teacher for our international elementary school, teaching Grades 1 to 5. This position is suited to a multi-subject educator who is able to teach core subjects such as mathematics, science, and social studies through English, while aligning instruction with the IB PYP framework. The homeroom teacher plays a central role in supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development during the elementary years. We place strong importance on prior PYP experience or a clear understanding of IB philosophy, as elementary homeroom teachers are key contributors to the development and implementation of the Programme of Inquiry. [Key Responsibilities] The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP curriculum across multiple subject areas. Homeroom teachers collaborate closely with grade-level and specialist teachers to develop, review, and refine the Programme of Inquiry. Responsibilities include assessment design, marking and grading, and the completion of required records, termly progress reports, and assessment documentation, in line with school expectations and IB practices. Teachers are also expected to contribute to school-wide initiatives, including school events and parent-teacher conferences, and to foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment. [Type of Employment] Full-time (contract employee for the first year) [Working Hours] - 8 hours per day between 7:00 and 17:00 on weekdays (shift work) - All workdays include a one-hour break and preparation time. - Any overtime work will be paid. - There will be occasional Saturday or Sunday workdays for events.
