Part-Time and Freelance Content Creator Opportunities in Hiroshima
Do you enjoy discovering local restaurants, attractions, shops, and unique experiences?
Are you passionate about photography, video creation, social media, and storytelling?
We are looking for talented content creators to help produce content for Joy in Hiroshima, an English-language media platform introducing the best of Hiroshima to international visitors.
This position is open to both part-time and freelance contributors.
Responsibilities may include:
~Who We're Looking For~
• Native-level English ability
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Comfortable conducting interviews in Japanese
• Comfortable appearing on camera and speaking in videos when required
• Photography and/or video production experience is a plus
• Social media content creation experience is a plus
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Currently living in Hiroshima Prefecture
~Compensation~
Part-time positions start at ¥2,000 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and responsibilities.
Freelance contributors are paid ¥5 per word.
Typical article length: 500–1,000 words
Estimated pay per article: ¥2,500–¥5,000
Additional compensation is available for photography and video content.
Transportation costs for assignments are reimbursed when reasonable.
Food expenses during coverage may be reimbursed up to ¥3,000.
Process
Selected applicants will first be assigned one paid trial assignment at the standard rate.
Future assignments will be offered based on the quality of work and reliability.
Strong performers may be offered ongoing part-time opportunities and may also be considered for semi-full-time or full-time positions.
Copyright of submitted articles, photographs, videos, and related content will belong to WAKO Hiroshima.

Content guidelines will be provided after acceptance.
After successfully completing the trial assignment, you will receive additional assignments that can be completed at your own pace before the deadline. Contributors are also welcome to pitch their own story or content ideas for additional work.
Freelancers are responsible for declaring and paying their own taxes.
You are personally responsible for ensuring that you hold an appropriate visa for freelance content creation work in Japan.
※Creators who perform well may also be considered for future part-time, semi-full-time, or full-time opportunities.
