BCIS is hiring NATIVE English-speaking teachers to teach English or Physical Exercise (PE) at B.C.I.S. preschools/kindergartens at Kachidoki, Setagaya, Ariake, Koto, Kaihin Makuhari and Center Minami. Duties will be curriculum development/updating, teaching classes, dealing with students' needs and parents, and planning/managing school events. Also, before and after class time, you will meet and send off the students. PE teachers are responsible for teaching sports during PE classes and supporting activities before and after their classes. Go on field trips, and camping events and join Sports Day, Christmas events, etc. These events are often on a weekend. When this happens a make-up day is given in lieu. Japanese language skills are NOT required for this position. However, having the ability to speak Japanese is an advantage to any applicant. Applicants must be native speakers of English. With ALL 12 years of primary school and high school taught in English, as well as university. Successful applicants must hold a valid residence card and visa that allows them to work legally in Japan. A Bachelor's degree or higher is required. The details for this full-time position are listed below: -Teaching experiences for children aged 2 to 7 years old children are required, with no less than 3 years of experience. (English Teacher) -Teaching or coaching experiences for children ages 2 to 7 years old is required, with no less than 3 years of experience (PE Teacher) -School Hours: 8:00 to 19:00, Monday - Friday -Working Hours: 9 hours per day ※including 1 hour break It will depend on the school to which you are assigned. ※Must follow the work shift provided by BCIS. -Located in Setagaya ward, Ariake, Koto Ward, Tokyo and/or Center-Mianami, Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama -Overtime work: No -Holidays: Saturday, Sunday, National Holidays, Year-end/new year break, summer break -As mentioned, normal holidays are as above. However, there are some events on the weekends throughout the year when this happens the teachers are given an additional day off in lieu of the day worked. -Paid holidays: Yes, after 6 months of employment in line with Japanese Labor Law Monthly Starting Basic Salary: - JPY 250,000/month minimum. (PE Teacher) - JPY 280,000/month minimum if you have at least 3 years of experience in teaching English to children ages 2 to 6 at preschools in Japan. - JPY 300,000/month minimum if you have at least 3 years of experience in teaching English to children ages 2 to 6 at preschools in Japan and meet either of the following additional requirements: 1) Have a master's degree majoring in English Education or English Linguistics 2) Have a master's degree and TESOL, TEFL or equivalent certificate for teaching English as the second language Allowances: - JPY 30,000 monthly teaching license allowance on the top of the above starting salary for qualified teachers with a teacher's license from the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand. The teacher should still have at least 3 years teaching experience in English to children ages 2 to 7. -Paid transportation: Maximum JPY 30,000yen/month allowance for commuting transportation is covered. Commuting by car is not allowed. - Perfect Attendance Allowance: JPY 10,000/month if you meet the perfect attendance requirements *Part-time position for nursery care is also available at the same time.
