(Fully Remote) Manga Localization Project Management Staff

Job Overview We are seeking a Manga Localization Project Management Staff to oversee the end-to-end process of manga localization, from translation supervision to production and delivery. This fully remote role allows you to leverage your bilingual skills and creative judgment to bring Japanese manga to global audiences. Key Responsibilities - Supervise and quality-check manga translated and typeset from Japanese to English - Ensure translations align with character voice, tone, and story context - Manage schedules and coordinate with external partners (translators, creators) - Communicate with clients and implement revisions based on feedback - Oversee project timelines and overall production progress Requirements - Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English - Able to work during Japan business hours (10:00–19:00 JST, weekdays) - Able to set up a remote work environment (PC, internet connection, webcam, antivirus software) - No prior experience required Preferred Qualifications - Basic knowledge of manga and webtoons - Experience in proofreading, editing, or translation - Experience in project or production management - Experience in the manga, gaming, or entertainment industry - Additional language skills beyond Japanese and English - Experience with Photoshop, CLIP STUDIO PAINT, InDesign, and Microsoft Office Salary & Benefits - Monthly salary: From ¥271,881 (includes fixed overtime pay of ¥70,721 for 45 hours) *Compensation is determined based on experience and skills - Overtime exceeding fixed hours will be paid separately - Salary review: Twice a year - Bonus: Twice a year (based on performance) - Full social insurance coverage - Transportation allowance: Up to ¥20,000/month (actual expenses covered when commuting to the head office) - Business travel expenses (actual expenses covered when commuting to the head office) - Position allowance (for employees in managerial roles) - Remote work allowance available Working Conditions - Working hours: 10:00–19:00 (JST), 8 hours/day - Fully remote position - Casual dress code - Possibility of full-time employment Holidays & Leave - 125 annual holidays - Full two-day weekends (Saturday & Sunday) - Public holidays, Golden Week, summer holidays, and New Year holidays - Paid leave, Bereavement leave, Maternity leave, Childcare leave *5+ consecutive days off available for extended vacations Application Process 1.
