Clinical Nurse Consultant

Rare opportunity for an experienced Mental Health nurse and strong leader looking to undertake a CNC locum contract.

  • Locum role – CNC – inpatient MH
  • Supportive multi-disciplinary team
  • Public Health, Regional location, relocation assistance
  • Immediate start or short notice period
  • 3 month contract with possible extension options

Fantastic opportunity for an experienced MHN to undertake a leadership position within an established multi-disciplinary team.
You will be working for a leading public health district providing an essential mental health service to regional Victoria.
You will manage a team of like-minded professionals including Registered and Enrolled Nurses.

We are needing a strong leader and experienced nurse for this position as you will play an integral member of the team. This position is RPN 5 and you must demonstrate skills that align with this level of role and clinical exposure.

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant Nursing qualification with full AHPRA registration
  • Good Operationally and strategically
  • Post-graduate study within Mental Health desired
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in Management of rosters, penalty rates, workforce planning essential
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a Senior or Leadership role, within the Acute Inpatient Services
  • Ability to contribute to mentoring, education, training and professional development programs for nursing staff and work collaboratively with other senior nurses and program managers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary legislation, regulations and policy directions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the recovery approach in mental health treatment and support; with a focus on working collaboratively with consumers and carers to promote self-determination and enable progress towards reaching consumers personal recovery goals.
  • An ability to provide initiative and innovation, ability to work in changing environment with flexibility and problem-solving skills.
  • Evidence of excellent communication skills, strategic thinking and a desire to provide a mentoring role to other mental health nurses. This position will be responsible for planning and assisting to provide professional development opportunities and supporting the developing nursing workforce.
