Curriculum Coordinator

PREP Saito Juku is seeking enthusiastic instructors to join our team and accommodate our rapidly growing student population. In this full-time role, successful applicants will be responsible teaching group lessons, as well as non-teaching duties such as hiring, training, and scheduling. We are currently looking for candidates with experience teaching exclusively in English to students of varying proficiencies. We strive to help students improve their communication skills, express themselves, and reach their academic goals. Position Description: The J PREP Scholars team is currently seeking an applicant to join the team in a full-time capacity. In this role, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and assist with the Scholars department and its standardized testing curricula. Duties include but are not limited to: *Training, observing, and scheduling part-time instructors *Developing and overseeing curriculum tailored to standardized tests (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, etc.) *Teaching group lessons on a regular weekly basis *Grading student assignments *Coordinating and communicating with fellow instructors *Assisting with seasonal events and seasonal events Applicants are required to: *Possess Native-level English proficiency *Have experience teaching standardized tests (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, etc.) *Experience teaching in Japan *Possess a valid work visa *Are available to work on weekends and evenings Working conditions: -Workdays: 5 days/week, including one weekend day -Hours - typically 11:00-7:45 or 11:45-8:30 (including 1-hour break) -Must be available to travel to all our locations -Trainings provided Locations (Academic Year 2026): Shibuya, Jiyugaoka, Yotsuya, Kichijoji, Yokohama, Azamino, Myogadani, Seijogakuenmae and Mita *Transportation is reimbursed Preference will be given to candidates who: * have experience in supervising instructors and scheduling * are professional, flexible, punctual, energetic, and dedicated * hold a master’s degree or above * are comfortable teaching a wide age group (from elementary to high school students) * are comfortable with time-management and following lesson plans * are proactive in communicating with supervisors and counterparts * hold certifications, such as TEFL, CELTA, TESOL or equivalent About J PREP – Additional Information: J PREP is a liberal arts afterschool program with offices in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Sakata. J PREP was founded in 2012 by Jun Saito, a former assistant professor of political science at Yale University and the author of several bestselling books. Our faculty members are graduates of some of the top universities in the US and internationally, and many hold advanced degrees. J PREP is rapidly expanding. Our curriculum employs print, visual, and audio media to broaden students' perspectives. Our long-term mission is to better the overall quality of the Japanese educational system from the bottom up, rather than merely teaching conversational English or preparing students for entrance exams in Japan. As a majority of our faculty members have lived outside Japan, they understand the importance of English as a communication tool. For the same reason, J PREP's work environment is not confined by traditional Japanese corporate culture. About J PREP Scholars: J PREP Scholars is an All-English program developed by J PREP Saito Juku. The classes of this program are taught entirely in English, and most students have an almost native-level grasp of the English language. Students are offered a comprehensive curriculum in liberal arts, such as biology, chemistry, economics, poetry, literature, among others, and standardized test preparation, with emphasis on TOEFL, IELTS and SAT. We also provide consultation services and tutoring for students who wish to apply to universities outside of Japan.
